“The Rose painting is related to the second aspect of the Quiet Axis, the “Utopic Vessel”.

In the dusty evening twilight of Bamiyan, a further intuition unfolded. From through the earth beneath my feet, there bloomed a rosy scarlet essence amid a forceful copper heat, drawing me through the center of the earth into the Pacific blue and the starry heavens beyond, and through those heavens toward the Large Cloud of Magellan. From the new floating focus of the “Inclined Galactic Light Pond” there extended an axis — a threading ladder by which to descend.

During the next six years, through an elaborate set of processes, all of the elements of the “Utopic Vessel” were assembled: The central holographic book opened upon a bed of saffron, pollen and yeast encased in honey — called the “Immortal Ear” for listening to the center of our galaxy; The solid, copper, heptagonal, “N'ave” or vessel for the “Immortal Ear”, sailing through the “Utopic Substance” of pure vermilion, mulched with pulverized holograms of peach forms which had been telepathically infused with images of “hoped for futures” by sixty pairs of people;All this contained in the outer vessel inscribed with the starry heavens and a path of star-steps to the Large Cloud of Magellan through the “Gate of Orion”.

The “Utopic Vessel” was assembled on Rapa Nui in 1978 and released to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean opposite through the center of the earth from the “Inclined Galactic Light Pond” in Bamiyan, Afghanistan.
